Book of Tattoo Designs ('parabaik')

From the Shan, or Tai Yai, people of eastern Burma, these stunning books were used in monasteries by special, skilled monks as reference for tattoo designs and auspicious dates. Most of the designs impart power or protection. We find few of these available, and then only select those in good condition and with artfully drawn images. In white ink on 17 black, coated, 2-sided pages, plus covers with 1 page each. (Please see Diran, Richard; The Vanishing Tribes of Burma; 1997; p.124). This is quite striking when displayed fully opened up.

Sorry, but this item is SOLD; if you are interested, I could look for something similar.
